U.S. law firm Reed Smith has hired aviation finance lawyer Hui Ling Teo as a partner in Singapore from Milbank.

Teo advises aircraft leasing companies, airlines, manufacturers, and financial institutions. She joined Milbank in 2015 from Stephenson Harwood, prior to which she was at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow.

She becomes Reed Smith’ first Asia lateral partner since August, when the firm August added arbitration specialist Matthew Townsend in Hong Kong from PRC law firm Fangda Partners.

Teo’s hire means Reed Smith now has 14 partners in Singapore, including Bryan Tan, the former head of Pinsent Mason’s TMT practice, who joined in March this year.
