More than 275 lawyers from the ZICO Law network, headquartered in Malaysia and with a presence in each of the ASEAN countries, are joining KPMG Law after an agreement was reached.
The move will push the number of lawyers in KPMG’s network of firms close to 3,200 across 84 jurisdictions, and broaden both organisations’ coverage across the Asia-Pacific region. Hanim Hamzah, regional managing partner of the ZICOlaw network, and head of corporate at Indonesian member firm Roosdiono & Partners, will become Asia-Pacific head of legal at KPMG Global Legal Services.
KPMG, one of the Big Four consulting firms, plans to harness ZICO Law’s local presence and knowledge to transform its legal functions and services as it pivots to Asia.

The need for deep, local experience coupled with global insights and technology solutions has never been greater,” said Stuart Fuller, KPMG global head of legal services, in a statement.
ZICOlaw beGan Life some 35 years ago with the founding of Malaysia member firm Zaid Ibrahim & Co. It recently named Icon Law as its Singapore member firm.
