The past few weeks have seen more hires in India’s legal market, with the likes of Anagram Partners, AKS Partners, SNG & Partners, Link Legal, ALMT Legal, and AP & Partners bringing new partners on board.

Corporate lawyer Arka Banerjee, who has 17 years of experience, has been hired by Anagram Partners as a partner in Mumbai. Banerjee advises on general corporate and commercial matters, M&A, private equity, joint ventures, insurance and restructurings and reorganisations. Banerjee joins from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, where he was a partner; he began his career at the legacy Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co. Anagram was founded in 2021 by former partners of Nishith Desai & Associates. The firm added two partners from Tata Sons shortly after.

Payal Dayal has joined AKS Partners as the head of its corporate practice in Delhi from Khaitan & Khaitan. She has 17 years of experience advising on cross-border joint ventures, M&A, private equity and venture capital funding, including matters pertaining to foreign direct investment. Dayal’s former employers include Alaya Legal.

SNG & Partners has kept up its hiring momentum by recruiting projects specialist Sharad Joshi, co-founder of Anoma Legal, as a partner in Mumbai, about a month after it welcomed corporate partner Gaurav Sahay in Bengaluru. With more than two decades of experience, Joshi advises on project finance, infrastructure, construction contracts, restructuring agreements and tax-effective EPC contracts, among other things. He previously worked for K Law, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Clasis Law, and Link Legal India.

Link Legal has welcomed investigations white-collar crime expert Rajeev Mishra as a partner in Delhi from India Juris. With nearly two decades of experience, Mishra advises on white-collar crime, including money laundering, corporate fraud investigation, tax fraud, cybercrime, anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance and fraud risk management. Mishra becomes Link Legal’s third lateral partner hire this year after energy experts Prashanth Sabeshan (Bengaluru) and Rajesh K Sehgal (New Delhi). He previously worked for Mazars India and in a variety of in-house roles.

Litigator Nayantara Sanyal has joined ALMT Legal as a partner in Mumbai from BTG Legal. With a dozen years of experience, she is well-versed in corporate commercial litigation and intellectual property law. Her experience includes stints at Altacit Global, Anand and Anand, and Khaitan & Co.

AP & Partners has hired corporate expert Kamaljeet Singh as a partner in Delhi from J Sagar Associates. With nearly a dozen years of experience, Singh advises on arbitration, corporate law, joint ventures, commercial litigation, due diligence and M&A. Singh earlier worked for both Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.
