Mr Brian W Tang is founding executive director of Law, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Lab, the award-winning interdisciplinary and experiential programme at University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Law (LITE Lab@HKU).  LITE Lab and its students have won international accolades such as Edtech Heroes Award for Stakeholder Engagement (Adult Education) 2023, CLOC Legal Innovation in Operations Award 2022 and Georgetown Law’s Iron Tech Lawyer Invitational. Brian is part of the vanguard of educators incorporating use of generative AI into his law school teaching and has applied his pedagogy to upskilling in-house lawyers, and also leads a climate contracting initiative involving leading law firms and legal departments in collaboration with The Chancery Lane Project. His current wide-ranging research areas cover AI governance, emerging capital markets for tokenized securities and carbon markets, sustainable financing and the role and impact of technology on the future delivery of legal services and education.

Brian is co-chair of the Asia Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA), APAC Regional board member of Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL), and board member of the Fintech Association of Hong Kong, and was previously on the executive committee of the predecessor of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Hong Kong.

Brian previously spent nearly 20 years at global investment bank Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, and at law firms Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and California and Mallesons in Perth, Australia.

Mr David Daoud has over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, with over a decade of experience based in Hong Kong, he acts as Director and as a Head of Transformation & Change Delivery at HSBC Legal. His expertise lies in driving digital transformation, operational excellence, and change initiatives across various critical global functions and business units within the banking industry.

David’s focus has revolved around defining effective strategies and roadmaps, enhancing value chains, streamlining processes, and designing optimal operating models while harnessing the power of technology. David is currently, leading a global team of program managers, project managers, and other skilled professionals which identifies and implements innovative solutions that yield positive outcomes.

In addition to his role at HSBC, David is deeply involved in the HSBC AI Ambassador Program. Actively collaborating within various AI working groups and communities, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the ever-evolving landscape of Legal Tech and Fin Tech. With expertise in transaction banking, Cash Management e-Banking, compliance, and operational risks, David offers valuable insights and contribute to shaping the industry's future.

Furthermore, David has successfully founded and grown three startups in Hong Kong. Two of these ventures focused on corporate digital learning, while the other centered around career management, leveraging the power of generative AI.
