Global law firm Dentons has announced plans to establish a presence in Thailand through a combination with local firm Pisut & Partners, expanding its reach in the Southeast Asian region.
Founded in 2016 by managing partner Pisut Rakwong, Pisut & Partners has 24 lawyers with expertise in dispute resolution, corporate, M&A, employment and competition.
The move comes as part of Dentons' strategic expansion across Southeast Asia in the last few years, following its combination with the Philippines' PJS Law in 2023 and Vietnamese law firm LuatViet in 2021. Dentons also maintains a presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar.
"The combination with Dentons marks an important milestone for our firm, allowing us to benefit from the strength of the world's largest global law firm while staying firmly rooted in Thailand's dynamic legal and business landscape," said Pisut Rakwong in a statement.
Added Kate Barton, global CEO of Dentons: "Partnering with Pisut & Partners strengthens our position as the premier global law firm in ASEAN, connecting clients to the best legal talent in the region and worldwide. With Thailand playing an increasingly significant role in the global economy, this combination ensures that our clients have the local insights and global reach they need to meet their business needs."
Under Dentons' Swiss verein model, Pisut & Partners will retain control of its operations, finances and leadership while gaining access to the global firm’s resources and talent, the statement said.
The combination is expected to launch in the coming months following partner approval.
