PwC has named Rachel Eng, managing director of its Singapore member law firm Eng and Co., to its Global Legal Leadership team. In her new role, she will assist in driving the growth and expansion of PwC’s Global Legal Service network.

The Bar Council of Delhi has passed an interim order barring Big Four professional services firms EY, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG from practicing law in India, according to media reports.

Veteran corporate lawyer Rachel Eng is exiting Singapore Big Four firm WongPartnership, where she spent more than two decades, to join accounting firm PwC’s legal arm. Eng is PwC’s most high-profile hire in Asia so far.

The legal arm of Big Four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has expanded its reach into Hong Kong through an association with Tiang & Co, a local firm set up by former King & Wood Mallesons partner David Tiang.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal has opened an office in Singapore, its first in the Asia-Pacific region, with the hires of partners Natalie Breen and Keith McGuire from Norton Rose Fulbright and Ashurst, respectively.

Shearman & Sterling, AZB & Partners and Allen & Gledhill have advised Indian real estate investment firm Xander Group on its $450 million joint venture with Dutch fund manager APG Strategic Real Estate Pool (APG), which was represented by Ashurst, J. Sagar Associates and Shook Lin & Bok.
