Morrison & Foerster has strengthened its commercial litigation practice in Hong Kong, hiring partner Adrian Yip and three associates from Winston & Strawn.

Previously the Asia head of Winston & Strawn’s litigation practice, Yip specialises in Hong Kong and China-related litigation and international arbitration, with a particular focus on asset recovery, corporate restructuring and compliance, internal investigations and intellectual property matters. He also advises financial institutions on regulatory work.

Yip formed part of the launch team for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Hong Kong office in 2005, before joining Winston & Strawn’s Hong Kong office in 2010 as a partner.

Joining Yip in the move to Morrison & Foerster are disputes associates Cliff Mok, Gary Yu Zeng and Jessica Chan.

“With the arrival of Adrian’s team, our regional Asia litigation group is capable of conducting complex litigation, arbitration, investigations and pre-dispute counseling in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese,” said Ven Tan, Morrison & Foerster’s Hong Kong managing partner, in a statement.

“[Yip’s] experience in multiple jurisdictions, including Asia, Europe, and the U.S., complements our existing Asia disputes and investigations practice.”
