Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has hired M&A lawyer Jon Bowden as a partner in Singapore from the U.S. law firm White & Case.

With 18 years of experience, Bowden advises financial sponsors, including private equity firms, corporates and financial institutions in the sectors such as financial, oil and gas, fast-moving consumer goods, and technology, media and telecommunications on cross-border M&A, joint ventures and corporate finance.

His notable work includes advising Thailand’s Bangkok Bank on its $2.3 billion acquisition of an 89 percent stake in Indonesia’s PT Bank Permata from Standard Chartered Bank and PT Astra International.

Bowden joined White & Case in 2015 after working for Linklaters for more than 10 years. His arrival at Freshfields has taken the number of partners in that firm’s Singapore office to 10.
