UK law firm Charles Russell Speechlys (CRS), which specialises in HNWI and private client work, has hired disputes expert Stephen Chan as a partner in Hong Kong from Ince & Co.

With more than 15 years of experience, Chan advises clients in sectors such as private wealth, financial services and technology on litigation, arbitration and mediation in the US, Europe and PRC, including multi-jurisdictional fraud and asset tracing involving freezing, gagging and other urgent interim injunctive measures. He has experience in technology-related disputes, shareholder and company disputes, and contentious employment matters.

Chan joined Ince as a partner in June last year from Reed Smith. Before joining the latter firm in 2019, he had two stints at Hong Kong’s Oldham, Li & Nie (OLN) on either side of a year at Gall Solicitors.

Chan’s addition comes as CRS has been bolstering its offering in Asia, with the firm opening its Singapore office this year. “As a firm, we are continuing to strengthen the depth and breadth of our international offering across key global markets,” said Simon Green, partner and head of Asia, in a statement.

With this addition, CRS now has six partners in Hong Kong. They include Vanessa Duff, who joined from Withers in June.
