UK law firm Charles Russell Speechlys (CRS), which specialises in HNWI and private client work, has hired disputes expert Stephen Chan as a partner in Hong Kong from Ince & Co.

Ince has hired dispute resolution and litigation lawyer Bonita Chan as a partner in its Hong Kong office.

Clyde & Co has hired disputes lawyer Nicholas Lum in its Shanghai office as a partner. He joined from Ince, where he was a partner of its Shanghai office and formerly the head of its Singapore office’s China practice group. He will start the new position from December, working mainly in Shanghai, while spending significant time in Singapore to work with Clyde & Co’s South East Asia teams.

Singapore law firm Shook Lin & Bok has hired shipping specialist Moses Lin as a partner and head of its maritime practice from Incisive Law, Ince & Co.’s formal law alliance in the city-state, where he was a director.

Ince & Co has hired three new partners in Hong Kong in the form of Eric Lui, Ian Lo and Alfred Lau. All three join from local firm ONC Lawyers where the first two were partners, and Lau was an associate.

Singapore-based TSMP Law Corporation has appointed banking and finance lawyer June Ho as a partner from Norwegian firm Wikborg Rein, and Felicia Tan as a director from Ince & Co’s local law firm, with the latter tasked with expanding its China presence.

Addleshaw Goddard has hired infrastructure specialist Ton van den Bosch as a partner in Singapore from Ince & Co, where he was of counsel, as well as head of global terminals & maritime infrastructure practice and energy and projects team in South and Southeast Asia.

Jan Heuvels, the Hong Kong-based international senior partner at Ince, has stepped down six months before his tenure was due to end.

The financial year 2015/16 was a difficult one for Ince & Co. Globally, the firm's revenue dropped by 4 percent while the Singapore office saw several high-profile departures. Today, however, Ince's prospects are much rosier, says managing partner John Simpson.

Ince & Co has hired Nicholas Lum as a partner in its shipping and international trade practice group in Singapore from local firm Oon & Bazul.
