South Korean Big Six law firm Shin & Kim has hired project expert Claire (Mi-Jin) Kim as a senior foreign attorney from Kim & Chang, the firm’s fourth senior projects hire from Kim & Chang this year.

With more than 15 years of experience, Kim has expertise in cross-border syndicated finance transactions, primarily focusing on project and asset finance. She advises lenders, sponsors and project companies on energy, including renewables, infrastructure and public-private partnership projects, as well as transactions involving export credit-supported financing, commercial debt financing, tax leasing and refinancing.

Having started her career at Norton Rose Fulbright in Amsterdam in 2007, Kim moved to the firm’s Tokyo office in 2015 before joining Kim & Chang in 2016. During her time at Kin & Chang, she worked as a secondee in the legal department of The Export-Import Bank of Korea from 2013 to 2015, and in the legal department of Korea Development Bank in the autumn of 2022.
